Until I save up my pennies for one of Cruisin Off Roads M101 lids, I'm thinking of making up some kind of temporary plywood lid for my M101 CDN.
4 hinges bolted through the side of the trailer and to some 3/4" plywood, with some kind of clamp/lock to hold it down.
Then bolt my RTT through the plywood so I can get the very noticeable mpg reduction brick off the roof of my 80.
Anyone have some inspirational photo's of such ghetto work while I sit and plan and generally procrastinate?

that's basically how I did mine. with a canvas and paint coating on it.

I did a thread on here somewhere. different lid or something it was called.

Could take it up several notches and have your local water-jet or laser cutting shop cut out all of the pieces and build a truss-like structure from plywood. Bond it all together with a quality adhesive (no metal fasteners) and then give it a coating of fiberglass. Could easily build a very light and very strong water-proof lid.

You want photo's of a standard sheet of plywood cut 2' shorter  :flipoff2:

That's basically what I run for a lid. Added a 2x2 inner rim to centers the lid over the box. No hinges. A length of 2x4 to keep it propped open. No clamps. Two ratchet straps do the trick. Was going to paint or seal up the wood, but didn't. Test run at moose camp, worked just fine.

Ghetto enough :meh:

I said "inspirational photo's", of which yours is exactly that, thanks.

And that is indeed a very ghetto lid Martin!

I will be doing hinges of some kind, to access the inside while the tent is on the top, as I have no tail gate yet.
