Been kicking around some kind of small pond idea so when we sit on the back porch we can hear some water running. Most of the materials I had on hand the rest I picked up off CL fairly cheap. Plantings and possible fish shortly....

yeah that'd look great....lol.

I wish I had gone bigger on the pond but I was looking more for sound quality....the dogs already use it for a drinking fountain.

Ah ponds..............fun for about three months....................

My old house, which is a rental now has a approx 4500 gallon pond, rubber liner with stone over it, running water sound is nice and peacefull for the 4 hours plus a week maintaining it, plus the 40-50 bucks a month to run it, I have to filter about 3500 gallons per hour for the koi.

If I had to do it again(and I will at the new house for the 10 grand of fish I have) it will be a 2000 gallon round poly AG tank with the roof cut off and a UV filter with a Bio Falls.
They are way more work than my pool, I would just run a high bleach level and no fish, makes cleaning real easy.

I have a 30k sq ft pond in the back with fish, I aerate that one with a fountain. This is super small, like maybe 120 gals or so and I doubt any fish will be in there because I don't want the work. So far my biggest problem has been the dogs getting in there and drinking down the water level. I'm thinking just a few water lillies now, I'll get some pics up of the big pond.

chuckle...I was going to ask if the dogs have found it.

a few of the pond out back by the guesthouse, water level is very low right now. I have a 1" waterline from the well to keep it up just have been neglectful. The fountain is a $4 shower head from Lowes......

usually I don't let it get this low, I guess I could rig a mercury switch on a solenoid....right now I just have a branch line from the well with a quarter turn valve.
