I meant bugs and bikes being at 5240 with 37's, some armor and a winch. But with sunroof delete. Ummm who knows. I just know they are a lot heavier than the 4870lbs that Toyota publishes

I dunno, I'm at 5460, scales calibrated at 20lbs. But have 2nd row seat and couple other things. Doesn't sound out the park. no?

Toy poodles don't weigh much. :flipoff2:

Obviously you dont know Sam- The wonder dog:flipoff2:

just deleting all that leather alone is a crapload of weight- and the two cloth seats up front are feathery compared to the leathers. sunroof is an easy 50lbs. the little ones that add up are things like all the seatbelts and hardwear for 2nd and 3rd rows. i also deleted the entire rear heater.(forgot what that weighs). Rockers had a ton of folded metal. cats were deleted.

-winch with synthetic rope is 8 lbs more than sunroof which came out ( and alot lower)
-37s additional weight over stocker tires is waay less than leather seats delete. ( also alot lower)
- front bumper weighs half the weight of a shortbus
- rear bumper weighs half of a Hanna or 4x4Labs

6,680lbs on the scrapyard scale. This is pretty close to my travel weight. Fridge and tool bags were in, full tank of diesel, 2nd row seats which I usually remove when traveling solo.

YoHavos- i cant see clearly in that pic.......but why arent you sawzalling that rear hunk of lower rear frame from rear springs crossmember back? are there flatbed supports to frame back there?

No supports... it's my bumper for now. It will come off soon enough. A spare tire will go under there.

And I bet it feels like it has pretty decent power. I know my black truck that has lost a bunch of weight actually doesn't feel woefully underpowered like it did before the diet. I think that Toyota shot itself in the foot making all the 80's fully loaded. I think they would have sold much better if they didn't feel powerless instead of having all the options. lol.

Dragging this back from the dead for an interesting data point. 4900# on 37s.

Agree. It's definitely no peppy - the 37s see to that. I had 265s on it for a minute and it was FUN to drive. No body roll. Cornered like a car. Great acceleration. Even now it handles very well, but has lost the "nimble" feeling it had with smaller tires.

Wow, I guess some guys just like their girls on the plus side of the scale LOL! Women always think I'm shallow for not wanting to date a big girl, they just don't understand that I need to date skinny women out of the necessity. Keeping the cruiser as lite as possible Lol!

They're usually the same ones that say they only date guys 5'10" or taller. I'm like, "bitch, you can take your fat ass to the gym... I can't do shit about my height."

Pulling this old thread out of the deep end. I just weighed my rig in its everyday set up with me in it. 6,580 pounds. 3,060 up front and 3,520 in the back. That’s pretty heavy if you ask me. I’m on a J-lift and I’m not sure if it’s the tent on top or the total weight, but it seems to wobble a little and with the 315’s it looks like the lift just isn’t enough. I was thinking about going to some heavier duty springs and possibly 4 inch springs. What do y’all think?

A Heavy Duty rear swaybar and Delta panhard bracket make a big difference with handling and lean on heavy 80s for sure. A Slee 4” heavy progressive rear coil is probably one of the more proven coils for trucks with 1000#+ over stock on the rear axle to get 4”. I personally like to add a little offset to the wheel track either with new rims or wheel spacers too to get a little more stability also.

set up like this I'm at:
rear - 3360
front - 2910
combine - 6270

Was icon springs front and rear at this point. Just a spare tire on the back, about 150 lbs of tools and parts in the back and a 75L Dometic
