Can anyone suggest a replacement? OEM or is there an aluminum griffen/koyo out there that anyone has experience with.

Guess I am keeping the red one...haha:clap:

Nick

My Koyo wasn't bad (until the fan went through it)
There is a Chinese all Aluminum one that's getting a lot of attention in the 80s section.
I ordered a CSF (off amazon)
It is "all metal".
Talked to speeder this morning he said that he has seen several CSF radiators do well.

Just spent an hour looking for a REAL KOYO rad. What a pain in the a$$.

Ordered what should be an ALUMINUM A1918 KOYO..I wont hold my breath.

The CSF looked nice but couldnt find one for less than 360-380 shipped from anyone legitimate or that seemed legitimate. Just went with a KOYO authorized distributor.

Thanks Clank

Can you try to get the C1918? Probably more but that's the one I had

I went with what was available from the nearest authorized dealer. I'll see when it arrives. It was 289 shipped.

I was just thinking I really don't know what the difference is (other than the obvious). Just what I read on the forum (which I'm starting to realize the info isn't as solid as i would like it to be)

haha...yeah. I read threads for over an hour...I felt less informed and more confused once I was finished:popcorn::whoops:

I've purchased a few of the CSF units... never had issues beyond the years I owned the junk... I honestly have no clue why these things have plastic tops and bottoms from the factory even though they do last a long time. Tom Patton in Auburn blew his entire top off his 96 the other month at the GAPs. Nick knows him.

I saw that Toms rad blew. I'm lucky I found the leak in warm up cause I had intended to drive it to get oil and AT fluid that morning.

Auto Cool in Chattanooga TN has been a great help. I will know for certain when I receive the product but so far the customer service has been top notch.

Ohhhhhhhh ahhhhhhhh ^^^^^

After 1 1/2 hrs removing stripped water pump pulley bolts...I've got the rad out and will swap belts, flush the current system, replace VC gasket and the oring for the dizzy that's been spitting oil(even worse than I had thought...ahhhh)

3hrs in so far. Started around midnight.

Will keep you all updated

I used the Koyo and it was almost identical to the OEM.

Comparing the two, they look almost identical.

What's odd is te KOYO box had a TYC decal on it but the radiator had KOYO inspection decals. Meh...

Everything is in place. KOYO fit like a glove. Buttoning up a few lose ends

Alright...I have everything in...

Went to crank the truck and the Alarm started to go off. I flicked the switch and it was still going off. Key wont shut down the system when I try to start.

I removed the brain box for the alarm system and I can get the engine to turn over but it wont crank.

I am getting fuel. Fairly certain I am getting spark.

There is a click on a grey box sitting next to my ABS pump that I hadnt noticed before...I dont know if I am searching for problems now...but I dont remember the 123 clicking before now.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Nick

crap man. I have no clue.
