I just bought a 1995 80 series from the original owners family with 159,000 miles. FR/RR lockers, cloth interior, miminal oil leaks, everything I wanted... except a busted PHH. I am a :banana:mechanic and have a garage at home and have owned two 80s before this and worked on them from the changing fluids, radiators, etc. but never have done the PHH. So I would really appreciate if someone could spare an evening or weekend to help me out. I am in Birmingham, Hoover to be specific.

There are very few things wrong really with the truck. The left rear caliper leaks fluid, which I can change. The key doesn't quite open the doors, which some WD40 and a new key will fix. But that PHH.... I am lost without some help. So if anyone is interested and has done it I am open to some help. Just sit on a stool and drink my  (or water or whatever) and point me in the right direction.

It took me 3 hours on the first one I changed and less than an hour on the second one. It's really easy and simple. If you can fix your leaking caliper you can change the PHH! Search on here and you will see some good pics of what to do and how to do it . Good luck

Nothing better than a fresh key from Toyota! It'll cost you $5... really!

The PHH is easy. Unless you listen to the pencil pushers over in the 80 section. The worst part is that it's in a grimey area where your whole arm will be dirty...

I searched for how to change it and found three or four different ways to do it. How hard is it to bypass and how much of that tubing will I need?
