I received this in an e-mail yesterday.
As most of you already know, there was a bad accident with one of our trail guides,KJ Entrikin, on the way to the Wheelin' 4 Toys Charity run at KRRP back in Dec. KJ is now doing fine, but his wife Beth has been in medical care since Dec 8th. She is now doing better by being out of the coma but is under intense rehabilitation relearning how to use her motor skills, speak, etc. She still has a long road ahead of her. Being under care for that long, their medical bills are much more beyond what most of us can fathom. Brush Beater Jeep Club and Kansas Rocks Recreational Park have teamed together to make a benefit run to try to raise money to help them with those bills that will be held on March 15, 2008. Attached is a flyer of our event. Feel free to print off this flyer and post it anywhere in your areas or send it on to other people/clubs you know.
Besides just an open trail ride with guides available, there will be hotdogs available for lunch, as well as an auction. We will have some new items for the auction such as a brand new 26" Flat Screen TV and VCR. We are also asking for donations from anyone of auto parts, tools, etc. to be auctioned off. All money received from those items (as well as entry fee and lunch) will go directly to the Entrikins. The only thing we ask of donors is that people only donate good, used items, not any "junk" items that are known to be nonworking or of no use. Each donor will have to fill out a card with item info, their name, and contact number. Also if their item does not sell, they will need to take the item home with them. If anyone knows of business owners who would provide new items, those also would be much appreciated. If possible, we would prefer for donors to contact me ahead of time so we know what types of items are coming in and can advertise them on our club's website.
