I know some of you folks are a little wheeled out right now but I wanted to encourage Cottonland to support this ride put on by our friend Billy Mountjoy with Off-Road Solutions and Hot Springs Off Road Park May 5-7. Last year this ride raised over $12,000 for Arkansas Children's Hospital "Camp Sunshine". You know the drill... Guided runs, meals, night ride, raffle, etc and it's all for a great cause. For those who are not familiar, Camp Sunshine supports this private, non-profit institution providing the only pediatric burn center in Arkansas admitting over 400 patients per year and over 2250 outpatient visits each year.

I'll post up the details on cost and event schedule shortly but wanted to get this out there right away. Please consider participating in this event or, if you are unable to attend, consider making a small donation or providing a raffle prize. I know how big the Cottonland heart is and hope we can make a big showing at this event. Also, if you can, please spread the word to others in the off-road community and beyond. Please feel free to contact me if there is anything I can do to help in the effort.

Thank you for considering Camp Sunshine and Arkansas Children's Hospital - Daryl H.

I got this from Billy this morning:

"3rd annual "Fun Run" is a fundraiser event with all proceeds donated to Arkansas Children's Hospital " Camp Sunshine"

So if you pre-register the meal provided will only be $10 per person, the park fees will either be $30 or $55 depending on if you went to SCC or something similar and got your one year membership covered, and camping/lodging is separate.

There will also be a general raffle as well as two gun raffles: one for a shotgun and for a really nice AR.

What a deal!

You going Bossman?

It would be worth it just to go eat! $10 for all of those meals?

All registered up! See ya there Bossman!

Come on folks. Somebody gotta eat all this food...

Well as luck would have it, I will be disowned if I miss 2 of my nieces graduations from Miss. State. I missed both of their HS graduations because I went to GSMTR one time and I just can't miss this one. Oh well, they have my money so if anyone wants to go in my place I'll give you my registration. Sorry Bossman!

I know man. I thought hard about it but thought I'd better not fight this battle.

As Kenny Rogers sings, "you gotta know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em"

Just to close the loop on this event for 2017:

Weather was perfect! Food was very good and plenty of it. Four meals for a total cost of $10 is hard to beat! Raffle was great with the highlight being a custom AR15. 100% of the proceeds went to Camp Sunshine with the total being $10,500!

I'll try to give a little more notice next year but please consider participating if you can. Thanks -D

I don't think any family member is graduating from college next year so I should be good to go.
