Hey,

Hope everyone had a good new year's.

Just emptied my engine oil to change the pan gasket and noticed that it was very runny and smelled like gasoline. Checked it out on MUD and apparently this could be from a faulty fuel pump that leaks gas into the crank shaft.

Anyone had any luck with any after market mechanical pumps ($126 from Toyota)?

Thanks,

Try CruiserDan you can find his contact info in the vendors section. He is a Toyota parts rep. who give discounts to mud members.

Purchasing from him will retain OEM parts on your truck.

Not to mention he is the MAN-great knowledge!:D

Choctaw bought one from Oriley's and hasn't had a problem. A lot cheaper too!

Later,

John has a FP from CarQuest on Frank. Runs good a year later. NAPA ok. Stay away from the cheapo places.

Thanks...

I'm thinking of going with original parts from CruiserDan...it's one of those things that an extra $50 might be worth it!

Hey, by the way, I hope the trail ride Greg (Graig!) is talking about is gonna be during the 3rd week of January since I'm on vacation then. It would be nice to actually make it to a ride:beer: !

I'll believe it when I see it. :grinpimp:

I Went Electric About 20 Years Ago And Have Been Happy With It, Especially When I Go Brain Dead And Let The Gas Tank Run Dry. I Was Told Then That A Pre 79 Pump Could Be Rebuilt, Don't Know For Sure, What Year Are You Driving?
