I have a Carter pump p/n P5000. Its not quite two years old and it doesn't work.
My application is unique. I need at least 44 psi.it needs to be inline. And a puller, not a pusher.

I looked on jegs and there is a lot to choose from. But high price don't always mean quality. This 22 month life is BS.

Please give me some feedback on the kind of pumps you run.

Check with the guyz over at Howell...They have a FEW to choose from, but all ive heard the brands they carry seem to last.
Ill be going with one of the airtex brands they carry for my 5.3. IIRC they have others for carb applications.

If you can't get a good supply of fuel to the inlet side of the pump, IMO, your best bet for longevity will be a combination of 2 pumps - a low pressure but high enough volume to feed the engine's needs, and a normal high pressure EFI pump.

OR, you could look at making a surge tank that would gravity feed to your EFI tank.

Higher pressure fuel pumps just don't seem to live well when they don't have SOME sort of assistance in getting fuel to their inlets in my experience and what I've seen on other people's rigs.
