I purchased a summit fuel cell off of CL.

It came sans installation instructions.

I am not sure if anything should be connected to the 2nd 8an fitting (tip over valve) on the top of the tank.

Does it need to be vented?

Here are the specs:

Capacity 22 gallons

Fuel Cell Color Red powdercoated

Outlet Fitting Quantity One

Outlet Fitting Size -8 AN

Tip Over Valve Size -8 AN

Thanks in advance

yes it need a vent tip over valve.

Summit has tip over valves listed.

otherwise, adapt it to some hose and run the hose in a loop all the way to the other side of the tank and back. Then run a loop up as high as you can and back down. That will pretty much prevent it from leaking no matter what you do to your car..

Even with an EFI return there has to be a vent.

without one, you either pressurize the tank, or suck it closed..

Thanks Mace!

The budget is tight, so loop de loop it is.

Too bad the valve is not an internal part in the tank.

Oh yeah, this is going in my bobbed 82 60.

9 times outa 10 the cap is the vent

No,
a. that is illegal, the cap has to be sealed per EPA standards..

b. if the cap is vented, it will typically leak when at extreme angles..

Caps should be sealed..
