So while doing some routine maintenance, I noticed that one of my front struts has a slight leak.
I want to eventually convert to coil springs and lift my rig 2” or so. However, I really wanted to wait and save up to do everything at once (tires, wheels,UCA,suspension kit).
I know most front struts are adjustable.

So could I just get a Front setup that goes from let’s say 0-3”. Not sure if the lowest setting would be stock height or not? For instance, the Ironman foam cell pros?
Or should I just wait and save up for a whole lift kit? Thanks

If the front set you're contemplating allows the height to be set at 0-3" then, yeah, go ahead and replace now and set to 0" until you get the rest of your stuff later, then move the circlips up later (if re-using stock springs).

Appreciate it . I just wanted to clarify if that’s what the 0-3 meant. Thanks

1.75- 2.0 in the front alone will level the vehicle nicely with the normal setting with air bags. There is a " front leveling kit" by Rancho called a "Quick Lift" that comes with 2 adjustable Rancho 9000 big bore hydraulic front struts which lift just under 2" that work well with the rear airbags. It is listed as 4Runner kit Rancho Strut RS999913 and is $225.00. I really liked the adjustability of the ride with a turn of a dial from Lexus smooth to very very firm. Actually, I liked them better then my new gas ICON's which ride a wee bit harsh over road imperfections for me.

Honestly, I would have kept the Rancho 9000 adjustables in the back but they are only rated for up to a 1.75 lift. When I put on the 2" ICON springs in the rear (added with my spring conversion) after a summer of articulations one started to leak. That's when I added the ICONs all around. Honestly, if they made a Rancho 9000 or another adjustable large bore hydraulic vs gas shock I would ditch the ICONS because my town has horrible roads and I just "cruise" off road; and the Ranchos were just much smoother for my type of driving.

I had TMJ Tiger adjustable with their progressive springs on my 80 and LOVED them. Last I checked they were not making them for the Prado/4 Runner/FJ. That would be my choice if they are available.

Thank, I will look into that. Could be a cheap option for right now. I put Ranchos on my 91’ F150 a few years back and I have no complaints on them.
