Hello,
I'm new to these forums (wasn't sure if this was the exact board to post on, admins feel free to move it...sorry if I posted in the wrong spot).
I had a few questions for the experts on these boards (I'm pretty slow when it comes to cars).
I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla VE, about 2 weeks ago, I felt my car riding funny so I took it to a Tuffys (from what I hear this was a big mistake on my part). Turned out that I needed to replace my struts so I did (cost me $1000 for the struts and new wheels). After they fixed it, I was told by their mechanics that my front right wheel bearing was loose and that it would cost me $400 for them to fix it for me (only problem is I don't have $400 to spend).
I talked to a good friend of mine who works on his own car and he said he would help me fix it for a minimal labor charge as long as I get the parts I need (he said the parts are only $40-$100)
The problem is (like I said I'm very slow with cars) I don't know what parts I need (the mechanics at Tuffy just said it was the front right wheel bearing).
Does anyone have any idea what wheel bearing I would need (also any places that I could buy it)/would a stock toyota wheel bearing work (would a wheelbearing for a 2000 Toyota Corolla 1.8L work? Found some on Autozone's website) I was going to go ask Tuffys but they were closed hence why I am asking here (need to get this fixed badly)

This is not the right place but I think your wheel bearing is a sealed type. My advice would be to remove the knuckle (take the brake caliper and rotor off, take the two strut bolts off, loosen the axle nut and pull cv out, remove lower ball joint and tie rod nuts), take it to a machine shop have them press the old one out, inspect the hub, and press a new one on. They can usually source the new parts as well. Google search Toyota bearing replacement. A lot of how to's (I think there is a great Camry write up out there and is about the same). Good luck.
