Hi I know a few guys have done front end rebuilds on their 80s. Where is a good place to get rebuild kits from I would like to get them in Canada if I could. I also need a rear bushing set :)

I picked up my kit from Kurt @ Cruiser Outfitters. Nothing but happy.

x2

Kurt has always been good to me, and is usually my first choice.

give wussypup a call, i "think" he just did his a few months ago, dunno where he got parts from.

make sure you get koyo knuckle bearings, I've had good luck with other wheel bearings, but always use koyo's in the knuckle.

crusty

if you do get them from Kurt, feel free to add them to my order (if it hasn't shipped yet).

4-wheel auto might have them...they do for the 40 series and when you get a kit make sure it dosnt have chinese seals in it...i put a trail gear kit into the BJ42 and was not impressed...few years back i got all the parts togather myself (from toyota and any parts store) and was much happier with the quality of the seals and gaskets.

I know Chaina has alot of different animal but I did not know they had seals. I have left a message with Kurt cruiser outfitters I will see what he can do for me first then I will call 4wheel auto next.

Tetu @ EBI has kits as well. They are more $$ than Kurt's but are local- which some feel is important. It also translates into quick.

Thanks Mac called kurt@cruiseroutfitters.com on Thursday and left a message still no call or e mail so I ordered them from EBI the stuff will be here tomorrow.

Make sure if you talk to Steve, let him know I plugged for him. I think I pissed him off recently by comparing Kurt's prices to his.

You experience proves that convenience is worth something.

I got mine through the dealer (Metro), and with the 10% off it was comparable to aftermarket (and cheaper than CDan for once!). So far I have found that both the front kit and OEM brake pads have ended up being cheaper than the other guys.

It's worth calling Carol at Metro, just to get a price. They even had them in stock when I needed them.

not at all pissed Mac.
my ass was just a little tender from all the people riding it because of the US exchange rate.
Prices are adjusted (both up and down)

Thanks EBI for the good service. In the long run its not how much it cost its who you can trust and who gets you the right parts.
