Front Bumper winch cover

Toyota had an optional PTO winch for the 80 series (seen it on the EPC and in the owners manual) which fitted behind a stock bumper with the center section cut out and had a cover over the hole for when it wasn't being used.

Has anyone any idea whether you can get the cover and the winch mounting still from Toyota for a '93 HDJ80. They are made for the PTO winch but I presume that you could fit an electric winch under the bumper on the Factory mounting plate (also part of the PTO winch) and then cut out the centre section of the bumper to fit the fairlead and fit the cover over the top.

I've seen a Japanese Import Cruiser like this but didn't really get a chance to look at how it was done. Had a 9000lb electric winch behind there and with the cover on it all looked really neat and tidy plus it kept the winch from damage and dirt mostly.

I have seen a few of the Grey Inports advertised with them fitted but I have not seen one in the flesh. I thinkwhat you are realy asking is can you fit an electric winch behind the stock bumper.

Yep that's one thing, the other is can you get the original Landcruiser cover that goes over the holes. I am pretty sure the winch mounts under there just fine as long as you can get the mounting plate.

Guess I need to go down to the Toyota dealer and see what I can find - they do list it for the UK models cos it's on my EPC.

You could ask on the 80'scool list as I think there there is a greater range of vehicles on there and perhaps the Ozzies might have them.
