Guys,
I have a 1983 2F engine short block assembly to get rid of. It had 200K rough miles when I pulled it out of my old brown 60. It ran, but smoked, had low compression in a couple holes, leaked oil out every orifice (probably aided by excessive blowby), slipping clutch...
The big problem with it (I've come to find out) is the front balancer is rattling around on the crank. The nut was still in place. The nut has been removed now and an attempt was made to remove the balancer w/ the balancer puller, but it will not come off. when the puller is unloaded, the balancer can be rattled back & forth on the crank by 1/4+". obviously something is badly scarred between the balncer and the crank snout.
It does have a block that could be bored and already has the late model PS mounting holes, 6 good latemodel rods, cam, lifters, oil pump, pan, bellhousing, clutch, flywheel, waterpump, fan clutch and any other junk I find to throw in.
Any ~72-newer F/2F crank will go in this block.
So if you're thinking of building a 2F engine, this is a start.
