I sold the remainder of my jeep parts to a kid last week and he told me his brother had an 80 for sale. Apparently it has the lockers and is in excellent shape. Here's a link to the craigslisting.

1995 Toyota Landcruiser

If I had the cash I would buy it. FYI the guy selling it has already moved to Dallas, TX. And wants to sell it bad!

What would a good offer be? I'm looking to replace the beater integra and not up to date on the newer landcruiser stuff.

Buy it Luke, it looks clean from what I see. I'm not sure what a 95 is worth in todays market, but I do know people are getting ridiculous deals on them because of gas prices. 95-97 are the years you want to be looking at due to better fuel delivery than the 93-94 models. I wouldn't touch a 91-92 with a ten foot pole, but thats just IMHO, the 3fe seems way too underpowered to lug an 80. If he is already in TX, I woldn't be surprised if he'd take 4-5K for it. But it does have pretty low miles for a 95.

Did they improve the hp on the 95' and newer models? If so by how much? I drove one of Casey's 80's for a few days a year and a half ago as I was considering buying one from him. I don't recall what year it was.(93' maybe) The engine was underpowered in my opinion. Maybe I was just too used to my 5 speed V6 Tacoma. The fuel economy sucked. I think I got 11mpg for the 2-3 days I drove it. I would like to get a SUV and still keep my Tacoma, but I don't think that I can make that happen right now.

Kurt, the 91-92 had the mighty 3FE. From what I understand (I've never driven one), it is as slow as molasses in January. 93 was the first year for the 1FZ-FE. While no speed demon, it did fine in the Rockies for me this summer and hauling 2000# of wood pellets yesterday :) . I do seem to remember something about the 1FZ-FE changing HP ratings somewhere in there, though. I'm not for sure. Wouldn't think it would make that big of a difference, though.

X2 I think the 95-97 1FZ-FE has pretty good power for my needs. You could pull a decent size boat with it, but not super fast. I would imagine the HP ratings might have changed between 94 &95 because 95 is when they updated the fuel monitoring system and made them OBDII which is awesome to have and you can use the scangaugeII which is a really neat.
