Ken - I hope you don't find this too presumptuous (and you may have already combed through this stuff) but I was thinking about some of our 80 series conversations (that ended prematurely
) on trail 5 last Saturday at Tellico.
One of them was about snow, ice and slick conditions and the CDL function (in LO or in HI with the aftermarket switch).
Like I said when we spoke, there are LOTS of different opinions on the matter and some folks here may chime in with theirs. I don't know how often you check out the 80 tech section but this is a relevant and timely thread considering our discussion last Saturday:

Also, we discussed lockers some and the different reasons you'd lock the front, center and / or rear and when that might be called for. You seemed inquisitive and I am sure I didn't answer a large percentage of your questions very well. Check out this HTML link. Don't be offended by the title because it does a great job explaining the basics of the locker world, specific to the 80 series:

Again, I hope this isn't arrogant on my part because I don't claim to know anymore than the next guy, in fact I am sure I know much less. More than anything I wanted to pass along information that may help answer some of your questions, more effectively than I did anyway.
