I like my factory mustard yellow, I had redone the interior and am prepping the post-wreck (5 years ago) parts for paint and took in my old can of concept PPG ($$$) urethane to match and had them mix up two quarts and one quart of the cheap urethane for under the fenders/hood etc. They stated they had a new formula but it should be fine. It was darker than the old can which was almost a match, just a tad darker. I took it in to have them lighten it up and said that if they can't get it I will deal with the existing too dark color.. I picked it up and it is somewhat of a muddy, more green- value wise a bit lighter but not as yellow and definitely not as much depth, if you will, as either the original or the old can that I took in. I think I now have 3 quarts vs. 2 but don't know if I should just deal with, tell them I want it right and tick off the paint store guys... and they might not be able to match it right on the second try.. Or maybe take it to the same brand store in the next town and see if they can straighten it out.. Even if it might cost me. The two quarts was about 250 (400 per gallon) bucks.. The cheap stuff is about $60 bucks a quart.
What do you think? What would you do?

Mix them all together and spray the whole truck

Not a good idea to mix two different formulas/brands of paint together as there are no guarantees that it won't react or lay down right..
I only had a tiny bit left of the old in the original T531 mix anyways.
I went to John's CruiserParts and he had just shot of a T532 mix and it was almost exact to my original 531, just a skosh darker- maybe I should have ordered that!
Took it back they said no biggie but when my wife picked it up the guy said they almost had it but they ran out of the tint they needed and its a discontinued item so I guess they are done.
In my opinion it needs more yellow, a bit of red, a little bit of burnt sienna and then some white as needed.
I'm gonna try taking it by another shop and see if they have the necessary base (different town) and pay them to match it -if they'll even touch it.

Got it! Took it to the other shop and they matched it perfect. Have a little extra paint now, took a lot to dilute too much black.

now your'e on your way.
do you have a 'booth' at home?
How you's doing by the way?

No booth, hoping to shoot undersides/back sides of parts to see how good it comes out, if not I find some one who I can mooch off of.
