OK, so I just crossed over from the jeep. So being new at the IFS thing, will my new FJ front hold up to 35inch tires and Moab rocks?

It should. However, just like any vehicle, slow and easy is the key to not breaking things. Nothing is indestructable. I never had any problems with IFS vehicles I have had in the past.

As with any vehicle, the more stress you put on it the sooner it will break, but a well built IFS, such as the FJC, is much stronger and more capable them many people give it credit for.

I know a hand full of guys who ran 35's on their 95-04 Tacoma’s for years with out any problems; except for one guy who keep snapping his CV joints, but he also had a lead foot. Toyota's IFS vehicles are only stronger and better now.

I saw an insane solid front axle at All Pro waiting for an FJ owner to adopt it. I’m sure the driver will break before the front axle will.

if you don't bounce the front end under power and don't bind it, it should hold well...anything CAN be broken, but unless you drive like me, you shouldn't have issues...

I do know a number of folks who carry a spare CV axle shaft, just in case....it's a $350ish part thru CDan, but a near-must for on trail repairs.

I wonder if Longfield has anything in the works......
