Having trouble deciding on what lift kit to go with. A little bit on the truck, have a 75 lbs front bumper and am planning to add a warn vr10000 winch at 89lbs. Looking to do 3" lift and have narrowed it down to toytech ultimate 3" w/5100 or ome 3" w/ nitrocharger sport medium weight. I just want a kit that will give a 3" lift and is durable for the money. any recommendations.

I'm running icons and love them, many have gone with the OME's and have heard great reviews. I like having an adjustable coilover, and that's what the toytech's are, however, I've heard better things about the OME's than the bilsteins, but I haven't had or driven either so i don't really know.

I was looking at Icon and have heard great things about them. But the price is what gets me. Just don't want to spend that much...but if I have too!

they're worth it, plain and simple

I did the Toytec about a month ago. I have been happy with it. It was easy to install. It rides smooth on the road and has been great the few times I have taken it off road. I like the ability to adust the fronts if I need to once I get a bumper and winch. It currently sits higher in the front but I do plan to add more weight in the front soon. Toytec customer service was great when ordering. I put 255/80/R17's BFG KM2' on it and it looks great.

I don't have anything to add really. I have heard good things about both. I will take your stock stuff off your hands when you make the switch though. :grinpimp:

I've run both.

OME medium and heavy setup for 80k miles. No complaints. Beat on them pretty hard. Still have the fronts that I need to get rid of.

Now I have an Icon / Total Chaos long travel set up. There is no comparison. The Icon/TVs are sooooo nice and ride much nicer - but - there is a HUGE price difference, especially with the long travel.

For most people the OME will work great. I love the ICONs though.

I'm running sans resi's, don't really need them for my purposes right now (dd and moderate trails, no high speed runs or such), so I couldn't justify the extra grand for resi's at all four corners. I'm also running the icon tubular UCA's, similar to the total chaos ones. I used to run the rough country 3" lift, and I will never look back. The icons are incredible, night and day difference.

Is the stance level with the ICON set up? 3" in front and 2" rear? Can the rear shocks be rebuilt like the coil overs? Couldn't any info saying other wise.

The front coilovers are fully adjustable, fully rebuildable, fully upgradable. The rear 2.0 are not rebuildable but the piggybacks are.

Not sure why your are so stuck on numbers, does it really matter if its only 2.75" or 3.15", with your bumper/winch combo, I'd highly recommend going with an adjustable coilover in the front.

I didn't chime in before because you didn't provide any intended use, just wanting a 3" lift. Piggyback shocks are unnecessary unless one is doing high speed desert driving where repeated, high velocity cycles cause heat build up and/or foaming.

If I were to do it again, I'd do the same, ICON on the front, OME/Ironman on the rear, spring rate depending upon load...

I'm just trying to make sure I will be getting what i pay for. Have spent time and money on trying correct things that turned out to be something different or didn't work the way it said was going to. I want to do this right. Intended use will be to head to any trails like URE or Kentucky if I ever get the nerve to. Camping trips and as the daily driver. Reason I asked about if the shocks could be rebuilt, Sway-away kit offers a full rebuild able system for the same amount of money. Just weighting all the options.

Like MTB coach said, and to reiterate what I said, if you go with icons, you are definitely getting what you pay for. I don't have much weight in the rear, just the all-pro bumper, which is 75 lbs, and my jack on my roof, but really that isn't much weight, and the icon springs are 15% stiffer than stock. Any more weight, and I would've gone with heavier springs. The monotube shocks are fine for my needs, and the new series shocks do have the option of adding a reservoir, this is different from the piggybacks though. For your needs, to me its between the ome/ironman and icons, and you'll much better on road comfort with the icons, and the front suspension with the icons is absolutely rediculous offroad.
