Guys,

I was on my way to RHT this afternoon when i noticed that my temp guage was spiking to the red and then dropping back down to normal temp. It would do this ever 5-10 miles. In stead of keeping on going to RHT (which would have been the smart choice), i headed back home where i checked out the radiator and fluid level. Both were fine (radiator is brand new). While researching, i found this thread:

Does any one have a fuel guage for sale locally? Or should I go with a mechanical guage? If so, how difficult is it to install?

Thanks
John

You can clean your contacts or just learn to deal with it. A mechanical temp and oil pressure guage is always a good idea.

This is a common prolen for 62s. Your temp and fuel should both spike at the same time. I understand it is an issue with the ground wires in the gauge cluster. For me, its not a big problem because the concern over the supposed rise in temperature is offset by the equally illusory pleasure of having a full tank.
