I am beginning to see a recurring issue during ignition on my 88 FJ 62.

The first start up of the day, the engine stumbles while igniting. It eventually gets there though.

No problems while running at all. Throughout the rest of the day other start ups seem to be fine. May stumble after long periods of rest though.

Would love your thoughts!

Thread should be moved to 60 series forum.

Cold start injector not functioning? If the cold start injector isn't working, it will take longer to crank/start the engine and it usually stumbles around trying to start/run. Easy to test, remove it from plenum, hook the fuel line and electrical connector back up, try starting it cold and watch for fuel. I usually position the injector in a clear beer bottle to be able to watch the flow. If no fuel, try soaking it in brake cleaner.
Or it could be a vacuum leak, specifically off the valve cover. Check/replace the two hoses; one is the pcv on the back and the other on the front. As the engine gets warm, the rubber expands and it seals the vacuum leak.
