FJ60 lovin' - work

Whats up guys,

after seeing the turn out at last nights meeting, i was blown away with the turnou.. i know thats not a regular occurance at your meets - so i hear, however it encouraged me to ask about some Land Cruiser help.

I figure there's someone on here that would be knowledgeable / willing to help me pull the carb, head, and help me re assemble them after they come back from re-building.

ive got a garage and tools, im quite mechanically inclined, ive just never ripped into a 2F before.

so, if any of you fellas are willing to volunteer some time, the beer would be on me - i'd love to have some help taking the carb off to send to Jim C, and sending the head to a machine shop to have the valves redone, head decked and putting an new headgasket in there as well. normally i'd just go about this myself, but considering i dont wanna be re-doing head gaskets several times i wouldnt mind someone there to give a hand that knows how to do the job right.

I don't have any experience specific to the 2F motor. I just removed mine to install the V8. I also live in Divide so I don't spend much time in the Springs other than to show up at work.

Maybe you should post up when you expect to be doing the work and see who is available to stop by for a free beer or maybe a sticker

Really that's the way to do it. Figure out a day and tell people that you need help. Whoever can show up will show up.

If you wait for someone to suggest a day, you will be waiting for quite some time.

Hey Milo this JT we met at the last meeting, I have the red FJ60, I am sorta new to these beast my self but, I have been a mechanic (diesel) for 12 years I you go to tackle it by youself I would be willing to lead a hand. I work nights so only free time is like from sat. midday and sunday.
