Back in the day, a Hi Lift fit in my truck.
I'm not sure where I would put one in the 60.
No rack or special bumpers either.
I also see newfangled ballon jacks from ARB that can be stowed in the wagon...
Share your wisdom with me.
Thanks

The stock jack is a bottle jack that is either mounted under the drivers seat (early years FJ60) or in the drivers side rear quarter panel (later FJ60 and FJ62?). A short (48") highlift jack will fit underneath the rear seat. You will just need to take off the foot and rotate the finger at the top perpendicular to the axis of the jack. It's tight, but there is enough room for the jack to be stored there. But without the special bumpers/sliders, what lifting points will you use for the hilift? I don't think the stock bumper will support the weight.

I have a 60" model, when I had the roof rack on, I use quick fist clamps to mount it. Now it just lays in the cargo area basking in the sun...

Stock jack was too short to change tires when I stobbed my 30x9.5's, had to call a heep buddy to help. :frown: Then I bought a Hi-lift.

I've changed tires on my 60 twice using Hi-lift & stock bumpers, no problemo. Used the frame rail bolts as indicator for jack placement.

My jack rides in rear passenger footwell, secured by bungees to front seat mounts. Rarely carry passengers, and there's still room for a couple chainsaws...
