Steve asked me if the top line of the three panels on each side line up.
Of course, these are my home-made panels, but I think they are fairly representative.
I would say "pretty much" line up.

Here is how I tackled the cut-out for the filler hose.
No clearance issues. Just made two small cuts to clear the cut-out in the floor.
Mine was the short-type metal piece.

Hey Nuclearbeef,

That's not where that rear ac goes. :) That's going to be a good project!

Looking forward to learning how it's done.

The rest of my door stuff is dark gray, but my kick panels are black.
They might have been sourced from 8 different pigs, though.
Are everyone else's kick panels black?

man, I would be all over this if I can be assured they will fit for my 1970 vintage! problem is my truck is in pieces so they most likely will not be installed for some time, but I would like to grab a set now while they are available.

the panels shown do not have the ashtray cut outs, so they will work

Didn't have time to test fit the panels last night, but did take a pic of the clips included compared to the stock clips:

You can see they are shorter in both directions, and a little wider at the clip wings. Should be able to let you know how they work tonight. I've only got 30 of the 64 OEM needed, so really hoping they work ;)

I hear you, I wasn't aware of your project ;) I had sent this info to a couple of local guys, one wanted a set and the other gave me the "I can make a homemade set for cheaper" response. I'm totally cool with people doing that, just didn't want this thread to regress there. We're a pretty do-it-your-self group and have to be since not much is made for these beasts, just didn't want to run off someone willing to make stuff for us;) Steve is a nice guy, I'm sure you guys could work together if he feels it makes sense ...

Tucker

I think I know the guy you're talking about. Cheap bastard.

it would make sense that they be black since the firewall blanket/insulation is black, it's set to match that, not the door panels

Tucker,

I will contact my clip and fastener supplier to see if he has the larger clip

Would anyone know if this is an av-ve-co item?

Installed two of these tonight and the fit was perfect, had to modify the clips slightly and figure out orientation since I had nothing to go on ... but easy otherwise. I ended up just squeezing the wings on the clips he sent with needle nose pliers to make them fit in the plastic grommets better (sorry for crappy pic):

Yes ... that's suede and carbon fibre :-( Let me know if anyone has three spare arm rests ;-) Overall the fit and finish was great, figured out how to install the clips easily and only cut myself once ...

Cheers!
Tucker

Thanks Tucker!

Did you try running the old clips in the new panels?

Sounds like fit is good enough for me!

Does anyone know how difficult it would be to cut in the ash trays? I frequently transport 8 husky people in my Land Cruiser, at 80 MPH, and they all like to smoke...

Just kidding.

Now wondering how much a set with cargo panels for the tall filler neck would be?

I was thinking that the kick panels may have been black, as they would get kicked?
