hello, My name is Mike Ethridge and I live in Arkansas. I bought an FJ55 (just what I needed I explained to my wife, can't have just 1) off ebay that's in Salt Lake City, original plan was to transport even though it is supposed to be good mechanically.

My 23 year old son, (let's not even talk about what I was doing when I was 23) who is a good egg, smart, polite, witty and a hard worker needs to have a big adventure while on break from school. He is to fly to Salt Lake drive down to Vegas then over to LA to see a college buddy then back along I-40 thru AZ, NM, OK and then Arkansas. He is a smart kid but did not get a full dose of the mechanic gene.

If anyone along this route in SoCal might be able to help him out should need be I would be grateful for your name and number. Words can't say how much it would mean to me, after all it's my boy, but if you were ever passing thru Arkansas and needed help I'd do my very best to help you along the way.

I have been fortunate to have gotten word from Salt Lake City, Las Vegas and St George. Is there someone along I-15 from NV and on into LA who might be able to help if need be?

Tentative Departure Date is July 31 from SLC

Hi Mike,

I can appreciate your concearn, one of my joys in life is Off roading with my Son. Unfortunately we don't have any club memebrs along the majority of I 15. When your Son hits around the I15 and I 10 he will be close to some of our members. Give him my number to call. I may not be able to help him with every problem he might have but I know who to call to help if needed. Our club has a lot of resourcesand a lot of great people. Hopefully everything will go well and he will not need any help.

Thanks for the offer

Thanks, hope he needs no help but knowing it's out there helps with MY piece of mind. Mike

Hay Mike, I am pretty sure Shell Beach is the next town after Pismo Beach and south of San Luis Obispo. Out of L. A. take the 101 (Ventura freeway) north approx. 2.5-3 hours depending on traffic and how fast you drive. You could do highway 154 in Santa Barbara it passes by Lake Cachuma, Chumash Indian casino and Solvang a Swedish style tourist town and save approx. 15-20 mins. I would recommend sticking to the coast though cooler temp wise & vistas, one of the best day drives in Kalifornia.
Cheers, Cliff
