I was home in ABQ over Thanksgiving and spotted a beautiful tan FJ45 on a sales lot on the 12000 block of Central Ave. Anyone here know anything about it? Don't see those often on the east coast. "VERY EXPENSIVE" was written on the windshield in white shoe polish. The lot had two other Cruisers a 40 and a 40 LWB, but that 45 really called out to me.

Thanks,

It is a nice truck. He has had it for sale on that lot since April, 2007.
See: https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=149967

We have discussed it in a couple of threads and there are pics posted. It has A/C, very low mileage, LHD, and almost no rust anywhere. It came from the Middle East and it is a late model (198?)

If you want a nice FJ45, check with David (2manycrusiers). He had one for sale recently.

Wow -- $22K -- The writing in the window is correct.
I pulled a U-turn in traffic to go back and take a better look (fearing one of you guys would be standing there with money in hand ready to drive it away.) I clouldn't believe that it was a LHD or that it was in the pristine condition it was in -- just awesome.
Thanks Beo.

I went so far as to take it for a spin one day.

I took off on I-40 and was passed by a Corvette with the "brand new" sticker in the rear window who held up, leaned over towards me, and gave the thumbs up while mouthing, "Nice Truck!".

Sweet truck but way too much.

Sounds like the import scheme is a good way to go - more on the Nov/Dec TT starting on page 53.
