I am looking for a dizzy and a carb for my 76 2F. I want either Asian in which case I will need distributor, igniter/ballast, air cleaner assembly and carb or Weber and compatible dizzy. I have available to trade a radiator, brake booster, hard top, cowl and heater (blower and control unit) off a 76 FJ40. Later I will have the complete front and rear axles, drive shafts, transmission and transfer case off of a 67 FJ40.

If anyone needs a free hood I have the one off the 76 - really beat up but I hate to toss it in the trash.

Might come out of lurking and show up at the Tech Meeting next month and could bring some parts with me.

Goebler has a frozen 2f and needs a hard top...pm him.

Are you trying to trade Goebs for engine parts or does he have some rough doors you want to cut down? :cheers:
 
I'm just looking to hook him up with a newer top if he needs it. I also figured I could trade my decent doors for his bent up ones if the opportunity arose. Like I said I'm looking to make a set of half doors and don't want to cut up the rust free pair I have. I know he has a locked up 2F and was looking for suggestions for a replacement. I don't need engine, tranny, or xfer parts since mine all are working fine. Ask Goebs if he's willing to part with any of his stuff. It certainly wouldnt hurt. I was just bustin' on the Ginger is all.

I'll check my parts bin to see what stuff I have that you may need. I switched over to a DUI unit so I know I have a dizzy somewhere. The original carb and cleaner never came with the truck when I bought it.

I may be in the market for a 76 and up windsheild if you know of any available.

How do you like you DUI? I like the idea of no points. Do you run a stock carb or something different?

Wish I had a windshield for you but I will keep my eyes and ears open.

Hey Phil, I trashed my windshield at my last Badlands outing and had a local glass guy custom cut a new one for $150.
I thought that was fair.

Also included removal and install.
 
I have 6-7 air cleaner assemblies. I'm sure I have one for a '76 in that pile somewhere. I'll pull the best and bring it to the Tech Day. I also have an HEI dissy converted to run in a Cruiser (like DUI). Was in a daily driver '76 FJ40.

$20 for the air cleaner
$50 for the HEI dissy

Sorry not looking for any more Cruiser parts. I've got too many already!

The DUI unit works quite well. If I have any issues I can go to the local Napa and pick up parts for it there without waiting. I run a Weber 32/36 that needs to be fine tuned but both work well together.

I'm looking for a 76 and up frame with the wipers on the bottom. I currently have the upper mounted wipers but I am unable to use them since my roll bar interferes with their installation. Damn cage designer never took that into account!

Don't worry Friend ........I'm not going any where, can't get rid me that easy. I'm going to do everything I can to make it down to Indy for evening festivities (if there is any) on Tech Day.

Yes, safety glass....that was the easy part of that repair.

Phil, I might take you up on the trade but might be able to do better. I have a set of metal half doors for my red 40. Built them years ago out of a nuce set of doors off a 72 fj. they are super cool. My hard top is indeed dead officially. What color is all your stuff? I believe it is white as i recall. Still would be better than my beat and bent version.

Nick - It is now looking like I won't make the Tech Session - going to Michigan to visit my parents instead. So I will try and make other arrangements to get the DUI and air cleaner from you. Where in SE Indiana are you located? I get down to Columbus and over to Richmond occassionaly to see family. Close to either of those locations?
