Rent it for a WEEK? The only way I would let them use mine would be if I drove it, and for part of a day at most. It would be cool to see your truck (or anyone else's 40) in a tv commercial I guess, but not cool enough to risk complete strangers driving it for a week. Especially producers with a Craigslist budget. :)

Need to check out the Athleta (Gap.com) catalog. Great models leaning against FJ40s for the last six months or so.

May be a plus to renting out an old cruiser. I will try to scan and attachd the latest FJ40 image with model tomorrow. Love to have a wife that orders from Athleta.

Bionic has "character"

Hmmm come to think so does pappy

With my luck, this would be some dood that wants to take a vehicle to Baja or Costa Rica and either doesn't have the money to build one or doesn't plan to come back. Even if you got paid up front you might regret it.

yeah, character. with hacked up body panels, rust holes and nothing Toyota left in it.:D

I'm with Beo. $500-1000 sounds great, until your truck doesn't come back...

Couple hundred wouldnt be worth it. But a couple thousand would be worth it as long as I drove it to the set and see that its a legit commercial production. An old Land Cruiser isnt worth that much trouble to steal to fake an entire commercial set.

Some years ago (maybe almost 20) I had a roommate that drove a 1963 VW mincrobus. He was approached to have his bus used in a reality show about Charles Manson (who apparently drove one at some point) for a fee. Of course they wanted to change the paint scheme but in the end he got more out of the deal than the bus was worth. Of course that was in LA where these offers seem more legit with all the TV production there. I actually saw the bus in the TV show that was produced.

But around here I guess I'd be wary.

Just saw a Goodyear commercial with a 40 sharing 50% of it with NASCAR. Two good mud scenes.... Clearly a 40. -I wonder if that cruiser is on Mud??

I sent in a single picture (no license plate info) and here is what I got back

"Hi Steve

Thanks for the note. We have already found a vehicle, but appreciate you reaching out"

So looks like a legitimate deal they are based in CA and seem to have done work for some big names
