I will throw my name in the hat to get one back East. We have several active clubs in the VA-NC area. I can get it back out West to Moab in April of 27.

April of 27 is too far out. I think that you need to come out in October, regardless if you have the briefcase in hand.

That is a long way to travel with a family in a 40. I’ll be here if you do make the trip.
It’s doable… 40 for 4 article in Toyota Trails Sept/Oct 2019… took the family to Death Valley for three weeks. @devo was a witness…

I will be in WY in late Sept. I was hopping to take it to Fall Crawl in Gore VA, in late October. We will have guys from all over the East coast there.

I’m due for a small 40 road trip
Don't need to limit it to a "small" road trip. My hand-off in Canyon de Chelley involved an ~800-mile round trip. It was well worth the drive. Good bonding with other FJ40 owners plus some outstanding scenery.

More on the bonding, with a nice personal touch:

From @hecrod's original post in the FJ40 Cross Country Expedition thread:

"We would have the opportunity to actually "meet" many of those who we've "known" in this Forum for years."

This was one of my primary reasons for wanting to join the Expedition. The idea of meeting other FJ40 owners really took an unexpected but pleasant turn on our recent trip to Chinle, AZ for the briefcase handoff to @Reznugget. While out there, we got on the subject of Idaho, and @Reznugget mentioned his uncle in the southern part of the state, with the same last name as some family on my wife's side. A few days ago I did some research on my wife's family tree. Lo and behold, my wife's first cousin once removed (her mother's first cousin) is @Reznugget's uncle.

Pretty much as close of a family tie as you can have without being a blood relative. Sure is a small world, isn't it.

I'm definatly in on the Michigan to Columbus hand off to @Speeter. Trying to get a kick off party going in Marshall MI. for the weeknd of Oct. 8
This meetup in Marshall, MI was my intro to the Michigan mud group. Crazy how long it’s been.

I’m one of those with an unfinished project. Won’t make this year, but hope to join a future effort from Central PA

August 7,2026. This case was in Moab.

Odd picture- decided people want to see the case not me, so AI removed me. And left the case (Hmm need to think about that 🤔)

Maybe the case removed you???
Maybe the case cloaked you?
Just what do we know about this case, hmmm?

The other case rode in the front pass seat of my 40 back to VA from SAS10. Once the weather cools I have plans for a tour of VA and some other club visits.

We ran US 50 from Montrose to about Witchita then took the HWY on our 2000 miles trip home.
