That's like saying "If i swapped my 50 year old pecker for a cheese stick, I won't get as hard as an 18year old" . . .An undeniably made in China 40 birf is no way stronger than an oem 80 birf

Obviously my guidance was misdirected. That's like saying "If i swapped my 50 year old pecker for a cheese stick, I won't get as hard as an 18year old" . . .
Nah, just struck me as a funny statement . . .Obviously my guidance was misdirected.
Some Suzuki Samurai guys swap in 40 axles...But I never hear people saying the going to put 40 axles under anything but a 40.
Now ya done it... you opened that door to the old LCML rantings just a bit further.Mark W. has been the undisputed First Knight of the Iron Pigs since way back in the LCML days. When he speaks, I shut my yap and listen.
who said anything about a cheap Chinese birf?An undeniably made in China 40 birf is no way stronger than an oem 80 birf. Leverage plays a big factor when speaking in angles. The 40 birf is something like 3/5 the size of an 80 which puts it at a disadvantage with respect to leverage not to mention it will simply wear out faster for the same reason.
You didwho said anything about a cheap Chinese birf?
lol, so over this. you gotta read the previous messages before commenting. there are more then just longfeilds friend. and there all gonna be stronger then oem 80 cvs, and there all gonna be smaller too.You did
That's what a Trail gear brif is
And I half to agree with @baldilocks a 80 birf is stronger then a 40 birf no matter how you slice it. Size matters.
the 47 no, the 45 however was brought over and its parts are the same other then the diesel motor. and all the axles of the same era/spline are the same. yes, birf is bigger on an 80, again though, thats still a matter of metallurgy. steel has changed over the last 100 years. notice how a 60 year old car in a field beat by the elements day in day out for 50 years wont have any rot, just surface rust? thats cause the metal wasnt cut like cheap coke. as far as ive been told.
I can buy a TG HD birf for my 40 that is undeniably stronger then an oem 80 birf, and is still undeniably smaller as well, jus sayin. so accounting for diminishing steel quality i personally would design my parts larger to account for it. and I imagine thats what toyota did. so not necessarily making them stronger. not fighting to winjust trying to consider all the variables on top of the more obvious ones. if anyones done considerable wheeling on both and broken more of one then the other id be more convinced.

Oh, and whoever said the 80 is longer? not sure where they read that? 47 is at least a couple inches longer wheelbase then an 80.
this whole conversation went the way of the modern progressive discussion: someone asks question that questions the status quo. status quo gets angry and takes it personal. argument ensues. division is created.
i just wanted to ask questions and get more considered answers then "bigger is better" so I could make a decision based on actually understanding rather then just being told.
I was hoping that my silliness would be enough to get the plug pulled. If this bull**** goes on any longer I will lock this ancient thread down. I mean it.
I think this is a Fair question. I think I'm equally as guilty if not more so a few page's back. I felt like Deleting a few of my post. But I figured the damage was already done.no longer on the actual topic here but just as someone that doesnt actually frequent forums all that much, what is the issue with nonsense and bull****? does it clogg the feed or something? I never really understood the displeasure with nonsense threads? this is an earnest question, as a person guilty of perpetuating bull**** hahaha. so I dont want to get anyone annoyed, im just honestly curious what problems it causes for anyone that doesent want to be involved? I love this forum as it is an invaluable source of knowledge and others experience, so i dont want to step on any toes
sorry to add to this lol. feel free to clap it shut hahaha.
