FJ vs. VW ?

Well I guess I am on crack then. 
I see them having some very similar body lines. They both have suicide rear doors and I feel the overall look is about the same. Which is not to say it is good or bad.
My wife works for VW/Audi. When I laid my eyes on this, the FJ Cruiser is the first thing that came to mind.

The VW you see has been on the drawing board and then concept vehicle for some time now... believe me when I say this.... VW/Audi doesnt need to take other automakers designs to sale vehicles. Ive been into aircooled and then later H2O Vdubs since I was in highschool some 24 years ago... Ya Im a old dog... but if anyone is using design its most asian automakers... thats not to say Toyota is a copy cat with the LC... heck the US Gov gave them the designs for the jeep when they were designing the first LC for the US Military. I have friends that were in the Korean War that drove them...
The European auto market has always dominated the world. In order to play catch up (not because they had inferior products but because of brand loyalty) Toyota, Nissan, Honda came out with elite branchs (Lexus, Acura, Infiniti) that were to go head to head with MBZ, Audi, Puegeot, Seat , etc........ The thing people need to understand about VAG (VW) is they are so fricken conservative about putting a concept vehicle into production, it takes years... I saw plans for the New Beetle in the mid 1980s. Took more then ten years till they actually came out with it.
I personally would not drive the concept A offroad... It is more of a sports car type... were as the FJC is more of an offroad type. Totally opposite.
I've heard the same thing about the new VW Golf.. they say it looks to much like a honda civic... I showed them designs that VAG (VW) had a few years before that new civic came out... as well as Peuheot 206 ..ei.
Heck Honda even toured the VAG and MBZ auto plants with full knowledge they were there to get some new designs to incorperate into the up coming Honda models. Thats not saying they make a bad product... Im just saying look at the whole world picture.

They are both expensive to fix.
They are both blue
One looks like a Cruiser (ie brick w/ wheels) the other like the rest of the MkV's (smoothed brick)
