Hello, I was just browsing around a noticed on a site a leveling kit, for the FJ. It got me thinking I went out side and noticed that the front, and for obvious reasons with most the weight there dips lower. I have been looking to upgrade the suspension. By adding a leveler to the front take care of the difference, I have noticed that most suspension or lift kits provise mroe lift up front.

I have a stock FJ 2007. I dont plan on doing crazy major off roading, mostly a daily driver. I want the nice off raod ready look, and plan on doing some off roading, but then again its my main drive to work and such. I want to upgrade the springs to most likely a medium duty utility, and shocks as well.

Any thoughts or sugestions?

It seems that the main reason for a leveling kit is to level out the rig after installing a heavier after market front bumper and winch... Aside from that Toyota spend a fortune in R&D to design the rig the way it sits coming off the factory floor for a reason... Just my two cents.

Daystar 2.5" is what I personally recommend. I'll be upgrading to a OME later just because I often stress the crap out of my TRD shocks by doing stupid things, but the spacer did level out the car very nicely and gave it a meaner look. Ride quality didn't change much either, but you'll love the extra height it gives. If all you do is daily driving then the spacer is your answer. No need to spend 600$ vs 130$. Lots of people purchase spacers to eliminate the front-end dive when stopping, and to overall bring the front up with the rear. Daystar kit comes with a 2.5" front spacer and a 1.5" rear spacer.

I agree. I got mine in August of 2006 and the first thing I did was level it out. Not knowing what I was doing I should have got a 6 inch lift instead.

look at extreme truck toys on the net. they make a spacer that is really simple to put up front to level an fj. i have the complete kit i am very pleased with. the spacere are very simple to install dont require any spring compresser so it doesnt preload the coil and you wont loose any wheel travel with this type of spacer so i have been told it is also the correct way a spacer lift shoud be. here is the part number if interested FJ2

If you're going 6" you're going to spend over 3x-4x as much (if you do it right). You need to upgrade quite a few things if you want to retain strength after bolting on a 6" lift w\ 35" tires.

I say go with ICON if you want the best. I first went with the OME heavy front/medium rear kit. It is a good kit, low maintenance, dependable, and it sounds like it would more than suit your needs.

I recently upgraded the front to the ICON long travel, light racing jounce shocks, All pro links, and Light racing UCA. I'll be doing the rear remote res adjustable rears as soon as they are released, as well as the rear jounce shocks. The ride went from good with the OME kit, to amazing. It is like night and day. I haven't had a chance to wheel the new setup yet, but the huge speed bumps that I had to take at 15/20 mph before.... well now it eats those bumps up at 45-50 like they aren't even there. Super smooth.

For the price of the full OME kit, you'll get one front coilover from ICON, but if you have the paper, this is one sweet suspension setup. My rig is my daily driver as well, and I love every mile on the trail and the road.

I don't get it...what the heck is the point in investing in a lift that you're never going to benefit from unless you get off the pavement and do SERIOUS off-roading? ICON is serious over kill. Thats like somebody adding a supercharger and never taking their FJ above 2500 rpms. Around here I can go off road, but would I EVER go off-roading to the point of needing an ICON lift? No. And I don't think most other people here would either, as other cheaper lifts are sufficient for what most people need.

Well I have a lill lift and a leveling kit and bigger tires. Looks just the way I want it. It does great on the trail too;)

You have a lil lift and a leveling kit? What? Wouldn't the leveling kit be your "lil lift"?
