We enjoyed our trip to Cruise Moab 2011 this past Spring. Lots of challenging trails. We are considering doing an FJ Cruiser Summit next summer. It looks like a fun time. I've been looking at posts and pix for the Summit and haven't seen anything that compares to the challenges at Moab.To me, it looks like a gravel road tour of interesting stuff at high elevations. Am I missing something? If so, post up some picture and video links. Thanks!

Nope, you've got it right. Spectacular views, usually nice folks, relatively well organized but no real challenges but one section of Poughkipsie gulch trail (the Wall). I typically hit Moab before so I get my rush there and relax at the FJCSummit.

This past year, they offered a "hard core" trip with a local as the trail leader. It wound up getting cancelled, I was called before, the story I was told, lack of rigs signed up that were appropriatly built to handle the planned trails. It was one of the reason I attended the 4th out of 5, something new. Yet, it was the same ole same, still entertaining but not if you want something challenging.

I attended the first 3, skipping the 4th, we had been there, done that enough. The offering of the "hard core" trail teased me to go again but it didn't pan out. My wife loves Ouray, no doubt, one of the most beautiful little towns I've been to. Surely worth doing as long as you plan a Moab side trip. On its own merit, Black Bear, Poughkipsie and Imogene are top pics, Poughkipsie is a really fun trail with the Wall. But don't expect the wheeling challenge of Moab.

I've got hundreds of pictures to confirm, not dispute your post so I won't waste the bandwidth unless you just want to see some of my amazing shots...:D

yeah but at least we got to hang out though... it was worth it right? LOL:p

Personally I get restless at the Summit. Dirt Roads are just not my thing. If it's weren't for my friends I see at the Summit, I could care less about it.

That is the best part for sure and I couldn't agree more...
