Like the title says, Im trying to make my fjcruiser elocker axle a litle skinnier fj80 front width to be exact, or a tiny bit skinnier. I was looking and it looks like I can remove those ABS sensor spacers and maybe cut down the ends of the axle shafts a half inch? I have access to a lathe and a mill (could mill down those spacers to maybe 3/8ths) that would put me closer, and only trim off 3/8ths off the ends of the axles? Let me know what you guys think, if its going to be a hassle forget it, but if I could do this as a simple mod, OH YEAH.

You're wanting to make your axle shorter? For what use/application? No one that I know of has ever tried to shorten one; not much point to it that I can see, for an FJC. Are you going to put it in a different truck?
Inquiring minds want to know.

I will be putting this under an 87 4runner, I already have the fj80 front axle mounted up under the front, running radius arms and REALLY CRAPPY CASTOR just for information sake.

the fj80 axle is sitting under stock fj80 springs, 35" bfg A/Ts on 15x8 wheels with 4.5" backspacing, I had to buy 92 fj80 brakes for the front and still had to nick the calipers to clear the design of the wheels I installed. Currently with that backspacing and 3" bushwacker flares I am barely legal. I do thing that when I install the flares in the back I would still be barely legal back there, its only another 3/8ths to 1/2 inch wider per side, but I would love to have them match, or have the rear end look more legal.

right now Im going to worry about re-gearing it and putting the leaf spring perches under it, but would like to know before I put it under the truck ;)

and just for kicks, 22re w56 2.28 crawl box, 4.0:1 rear case elocker HP fj80 front with smaller brakes, soon to be fjcruiser elocker rear, running 5.29s front and rear. I am currently running 4.30 front and rear and my clutch is hating me and the fjcruiser I believe to be a 3.73 ratio per the previous owner, there is not a single mark on the rear rotors so I have no clue how many miles are on it.

MORE INFO PROVIDED lol
