Hello all! Picked up a '89 62 a couple off weeks ago and was told by the P.O. that the 4wd would not disengage without swapping the vac hoses around. I'm currently parting a '95 4runner so I decided to look around under the hood and see if I could find a solenoid that would work. I found a pair on the pass inner front fender that were identical in color and plug connections but the outlets were configured a little different....as you know, the outlets on the 62's solenoid has one pointing forward and one pointing towards the fender of the rig...this one has both outlets pointing forward. After testing the replacment I found that it worked perfectly. From there it was literally a 5 minute fix...unbolt the assembly from the firewall, unscrew the old one from its holder and screw the new one into place. No need for any other mods!! Sorry if this was already posted but I figured I would let all my fellow 62 owners of this quick and easy fix...
