There are several Big Horn Sheep Guzzlers available. If anyone would like to to do some very worth while volunteer work and use their 4X4 for a good purpose let me know and I will put you in contact with our Area Captain Coordinator. Thanks

Upcoming Work Project

Hi All. With reegard to my previous post about Big Horn Sheep Guzzlers, if you would like a taste of what it is all about there is a work project Dec 2 & 3rd in the South Bristol Mountains. The attachment explains what is going on. If you would like to volunteer let me know.

Good news we have a project scheduled for Millers Cabin in the South Bristol Mountains to replace the old tank with a new one on December 2nd and 3rd.
Turn off I 40 at Ludlow and go east 26 miles on old 66 to the bagdad siding I will have a sign out.
If you come in a RV you will want to camp here, as the road is sandy to the camp site about 4 miles north of old 66. We will meet at the camp area Friday night and Saturday morning then leave about 8:00 AM for Millers Cabin to dig a hole for the boss tank, install new pipe and build new pick up point. I would like to camp at Millers cabin Saturday night but that might not be possible.
This is the most important project we will do this year and will need a lot of people. This is the only water in the area and when the old line failed this year we lost 5 sheep.
When the survey was done in early October 59 sheep were counted and some are always missed, they all depend on this water so come out and help get this tank replaced.
Bring gloves; shovel, digging bar and if you have room throw in some firewood for the fire Friday and Saturday night.
Coffee and rolls Saturday morning then Saturday night Joe Steinmetz and John Henson will cook hamburgers and I’ll see if I can get John Nelson to make his beans, after supper maybe a dump cake.
So with a good project, great food and drink, maybe new friends you don’t want to miss this one so let me know if you are coming so I will get enough food 909-981-5487 or g.cranky@verizon.net.
If you miss this one there are two more coming up January 27th and 28th then February 24th and 25th in the Kingston Mountains. I’ll be sending out more on these later.
Next year we will put a habit crew together to work on smaller projects like springs and repairs to the drinkers so if you would like to get on it let me know. Gary Thomas

John,

The following link is to a picture web site to get a flavor of what some of the work projects are like. Look at Vermin Drinker, Owls Roost, Spring BGG and SCBS Mountain Lion.

John,

I already have plans for that weekend but would like to volunteer for other projects that come up during the year. Keep me posted my friend. Kind of a bummer that our club can't adopt a site and maintain it. Has it been brought up?

:)

Mark

I will keep you posted. With regard to your statement that "Too bad our club can't keep a site going". Being an Area Captain in the SCBS lends itself more to one or a team of the same two people as opposed to a club project.

John,
I'd like to volunteer in any capacity I can. I'll PM you my email address and cell phone number. Thanks.
