I have loved my 73 FJ40 for 30 yrs. I have rolled it,jumped it, beat it to a pulp.! rebuilt all of it from ground up. (couple times).I just bought a 1990 FJ80?. It has a AT,PS,AC,cruise cont,center diff lock button,sun roof elec. windos,locks. hatchback says full time fwd. The catalectic converters were cut out and stolen and I was told it just needed a small part for ignition system when I bought it. Well after I matched up and patched the 4 wires cut off,the tranny lites up in dash. Truck turns over great, wont start. I am sure because no spark.
I have tried a new ignitor and a new coil so far nada de spark. I would like to know if I can temporarly
by pass computer or check engine light loop just to see if it will run? . It has old square obd plug in under hood and I have seen ck engine lt on before but not lately. Also I bought new distrib cap and wires. What to do next is Question ??. (tired of buying new parts). I am a General Contractor by trade and can fabricate almost anything and have been working on trucks since .....
