If it's not a tight fit then lift up slightly as you tighten the pressure plate bolts to help get it more centered, if you hold it straight and gravity thing again your clutch disk will be low.Not bad a little snug
I think you might be right re has to be spot on. I took the bottom of the belhousing cover off so I can see if theres anything else thats hanging it up. diving back in after this rain stopsOne thought, the grease in the pilot bearing hole could cause an air lock and keep the shaft from going in all of the way.
I have used those clutch alignment tools before and thought it was all good, but the tool didn’t fit quite right and was not fully engaging the pilot bearing. I had to modify it by sanding the end down to fit. That clutch disc has to be perfectly in alignment.
