Were did you get your clutch parts? I looked up the PN on the old bearing and its for a 67 Ford Galaxie... there must be some sort of cross over parts matrix that I'm not aware of...
Is the copper supposed to dry over night?Started in on the OP gasket today. Got derailed by some rain but not before I sprayed several layers of copper sealant on everything. Hoping to install tomorrow.pace.

Got the pan gasket /flywheel on.
Next is replacing the TO bearing. I took the bearing off the housing but not sure of the bearing I received is the right one. The opening is clearly too big to fit snug on the housing. Its from RockAuto and says fits 72 fj55 3.9L... Also, Do I need new housing as I chipped a piece out of it housing removing the bearing? I did notice there's a plastic sleeve inside on the old bearing and am wondering if that is supposed to be used with the new bearing

ahh ok that's for a different trans.
The clutch disc is different (splines) but I think the T/O bearing is the same, it uses the stock carrier and fork and everything else

ok. I looked at the number and it said Munci trans ...so I figured it was a diff part

Does this piece need to be replaced? It will still hold the bearing in place ?
Well I certainly would but that doesn’t mean it has to be replaced.

I'm going w/ it. Just ordered what looks like the correct bearing from fjparts.com.

Sounds like some OG mechanic whom worked on this pig couldn't find the parts and somehow sourced some ford parts and made em work. The bearing hub is also American made, Likely Ford to match the 67 Galaxie bearing. possibly before the interwebs

interesting that someone in another thread found they had the exact same bearing in their pig. Must have been a thing
