I am performing a frame-off restoration of a 1979 FJ40. My Old Man Emu suspension gave the vehicle a lift of approximately 3 inches. I have replaced the original fenders with aluminum fenders from Agualu. Now I have a gap of about 3 inches between the lower edge of the fender and frame. I want to find an inner fender splash guard to protect the engine compartment from as much splash as possible.

Does anyone know off a source for these or a suitable material to fabricate them from? My search has thus far been unsuccessful. I have looked into using a rubber floor mat or a garden pond liner to use as the material and have not located anything that seems appropriate.

Any suggestions??

Try some abs sheet, available from Industrial plastics suppliers. You have a choice of thicknesses.
