Looks like I am heading north and won't be able to make this one. Have fun and stay safe.

Kids wining about the heat at lake hemet. Just gonna roll up the mountain to the camping area and hike/drive around. Ping me if anyone up this way!

Well we had a great weekend at one of the best views I have camped at locally. Wampa only lost 1 fastener (front body mount and puck) so I'll cut another and reinstall. I was able to adjust the AC amp and finally get the truck cool. The shocks absolutely sucked though. I have been using Doetsch 8000's forever and they were always awesome but this set is horrible (bought around pandemic when Doetsch moved from El Cajon to TX). Anyway, some Bilsteins are on the way. As far as a shake down run goes, the truck did very well and my confidence has grown as far as taking it to Coyote in August.

On the way up I let my eldest have some time behind the wheel. He is a natural and had no issue driving a stick.

We made it! 5 long years working on this rig, we were stoked to get it on it's first camping trip.

Wampa.. .(was Mudhorn, I am reserving that name for a future brown 60.), I sure have missed having a 60 since mine bit the dust in Pismo in 2017.

Some ideas were bounced around for more trips / themes. One was a scotch food pairing trip. I was thinking maybe we could find a place to do that in Sept? Or maybe bundle it with the Camp and Shoot in December?

Looks like a great time. I would have loved to join you. Hopefully next time.

We ended up heading up to Bishop area for a couple nights. Stayed at Kennedy Meadows one night (heavy bear activity), then up to Lake Sabrina for two nights, stopping at Whitney Portal on the way.

Our campground neighbor had a cool 80 series RC truck

Cool! I have an 80 series RC truck. My wife got for me when ours was in the shop for an extended period of time. I called it Therapy Truck.
