:cool:First off wanted to say Hi and its nice to find some more local presence (ks) - I was linked here by Jason- FlatlandTRD and have heard lots of good stuff so I thought I was long overdue to join-
We recently did a solid axle swap on my Tacoma but due to early eviction (lost the garage/tools where we did the operation) we were forced to get the truck "drivable" but now I have a 3/4 finished project- Ive tried to get ahold of members of other forums but to no avail so I am kinda banking on some local support- there is a handful of things left to do - or redo should i say on my truck and was probing to see if there are any of you guys willing to give a fellow rock crawler a hand- Resources needed are as follows:
A couple extra hands would be great
Plasma cutter
220 welder
and some sort of lift (extra jack stands would work as well)
Again any and all help would be much appreciated and i'm usually free on most weekends- I have an air compressor, impact, sockets, cutoff saw, grinder, and 110 welder (no good for this application) to throw in the mix so please just let me know if any of you guys/gals are interested- thanks in advanced- and hopefully we'll cya on the trail ;)

Hey welcome Mike! Glad to see you made it.

As you know, I'm out the next two weekends. I know it sucks, but if you can hold out a little longer I'll be available and hopefully Mike C could help out. He doesn't post here very often, but he does check the forum. Excellent fab skills. Maybe we could re-attack some of the steering also.

I think Kris mentioned a work weekend with some smoked brisket. We could hit a few projects, eat some grub, BS, etc. Sound like a plan?

Later, Jason

My fab skills aren't that great, the other Mike C is much better, but I've got everything else covered.

What all ya eed'n done yet.

Welcome to Mud and TAC!

I need to plan a work weekend before th end of June..... and can usually make a good smoked brisket :hillbilly:

To do list:
Easy stuff:
1. Remove body lift (1" will be easy, just need a set of hands)
2. Cut down and re-align borgenson steering shaft (hand in hand w/taking off bodylift)
3. Remove leaf from front packs (I dont have the extra weight to get em to sag so I gotta take it down a notch)
4. Remake rear shackels (simple, just need flat steel and drill press)

Not so easy stuff:
1. Despite angle finder we think the spring plates got off a hair so need to torch one and take a laser or something to get it in line with the opposite one... this will fix my driver side shackle angle, and can put the leaves back in the center whole **had to put pin in front slot to compensate for misaligned plates.

Thats it.... not really tough but tough enough by yourself if you dont have a good welder and resources.... HOpe this clarifies it a bit more, and thanks for the welcome :) A build day and brisket sounds right up my alley- I can bring the beverages ;)
Thanks again guys

-Mike A.
