Guys,

Check out the pics on their web site:

Our original plan was to go up Pleasant Canyon and down South Park. I made a GPS route and mail it to them. However, when we got there, we went up South Park instead and camped at the top. When the guys from Venezuela got to Panammint Valley at 1am, they headed for Pleasant Canyon. Just like the instructions said. Since they did not find us there, they tried to continue following the route over Roger's Pass.

The pictures show how much snow they encountered trying to get over Roger's Pass. They worked their way for 5 hours until they gave up. Then they drove down Pleaseant and asked in Ballarat if someone had seen us. Sure enough some local guy told them that a bunch of Cruisers had been there the day before and they were up South Park. The guy even took the time to show them were the trail head of SP was.

When they got to the top we had broken camp already. However, they were able to hear chatter on CB channel 10. That had not changed from the original plan. They had found us. It would continue to be a very long day for them. They had left Moab at noon the previous day and kept driving until we camped again later that day.

Mark,

I agree is not super human feat to get there. But it's a cool trip. A trip never done by a Venezuelan (tropical) 4x4 club in winter.
I've given them your info.

Thanks

Alvaro

They've made it

The expedition reached their goal. Here are some pics:
