After using my trailer now for a few months, i can see how extending the tongue would help alot esp. when backing up. I like the idea a few have you have done with making them able to slide in and out.

Any precautions or lessons learned doing this?

Here isthe best pic i have of the current tongue setup before the sides where completed.

Use a piece of reciever tube for the tounge I used a 4'-0" piece. Weld your coupler to a 2" sq X 4'-0" piece and slide it into the reciver tube drill holes at different locations for the desiered length.

That would look like nice built up a few feet higher and a tent on top!

You know what I mean?;)

it currently has 30"s on it, it should look good behind the new tow vehicle, if i can get the princess out of it

D i thought of that, my biggest concern is when backing up where the turning point is, the trailer has a very short tongue so it is easy to jack knife, and it seems a longer draw bar from the car wouldnt help this.

Maybe I'm wrong????

Extended tongue with a socket for a Lunette or a Lock-N-Roll. The 2" socket tube for the sliding tongue extends clear back thru the rear bumper of the trailer.
