Hey Ya'll,

Please forgive if you've seen this at another clubhouse :o just trying to get the word out. Woody from the fj55 forum advised me to post this around the So Cal corners and since this applies to all LC owners in the Socal area, I wasn't sure exactly where to post it.

In these tough $ times, this seems to be a great opportunity, so here's a barter/trade situation I'm putting out their for a good friend. If you need repairs/maintenance on you rig, and have recently upgraded to a new PC and are figuring out what the hey to do with your older system (Craigslist -Run away!), this might work out quite nicely all around. :hhmm:

Experienced, Established Land Cruiser Specialist in the Southern California area Interested in Trading LC Repair for '07 or later PC System:wrench:

Shop in LA area headed by highly experienced, extremely honest and reasonable LC specialist. servicing all eras of Toyota Landcruisers since they were introduced to the US in the mid 60's: FJ 40, 55, 60, 62's, 80-series, 100-series, you get the picture. They work on a lot of modern FJ Cruisers too, but the knowledge of vintage LCs is what they're known for. (No bodywork, mechanical/electrical only).

OFFERING REPAIR SERVICE in EQUAL TRADE for:
'07 (or later) PC running latest Windows XP w/service packet. Also needed is a large, bright monitor. RELIABLE, QUALITY systems only. No other software needed and not interested in a system older than '07.

LOOKING FOR A FAIR TRADE ONLY

 -ELC

What does the system need to run?
does it need a NIC card?
DVD or CD burner?

Why '07? what amount of RAM and HD space is reuired?

They say they need a very simple system running Windows XP - not alot of bells and whistles at all, but they want something recent so the new Toyota parts databases will run on it. Their current system is quite outdated.

Again, nothing fancy. Best thing would be to call them.

I don't have a PC to offer but it is nice to know there is an experienced LC shop in SC. What is the name of the shop and exactly where is it?

K & H Imports in Canoga Park. Been taking my iron pig to them for as long as I've owned it (15 years). They've been so good to me I just wanted to do something for them.

If there's a better LC mechanic, or more honest, I'd truly like to hear about it.

Yikes! Canoga Park is a haul for me but something to keep in mind.

update...

I don't understand it but as of yesterday these guys are still up for a trade: Cruiser work for a recent PC.

Highly regarded and experienced LC mechanics, the guys at K&H just want to work on cruisers, not shop around for a new PC. A '06 or '07 system will suit them just fine, no fancy software required, or DVD burners, or whatever, although if that comes with it they won't complain. The important thing is just that it needs to be running the current edition of Windows. A monitor isn't as vital as a good reliable simple computer.

No body work spoken there at all.
