Hi,
I lurk here among you guys from time to time and my question is what has the experience of folks here been with the SOR Wilderness or Expedition roof rack systems? It seems that when you couple it with the swing out tire system of racks and any over the tire bike rack or ski rack you would have a set up that would be configurable to precisely whatever your needs would be on a given trip. :hhmm: What has your experience been?
Thanks.

Wow

Dang. Over a hundred mudders looked at this post and not one of you experienced folks has an opinion on these racks and their utility????? Did I pose the poll question badly? Is this gear so new that no one has used it yet? Didn't seem so. Seems like a variation on the Safari and ARB racks and storage systems but with a few twists like the split opening tail gate and support for the roof rack from stronger points on the body or frame than the rain gutter. :bang::bang::bang:

Is this for a 40? might try searchign and/or posting over there?? Not near as much 40 specific traffic over here as in the 40 section. Hope this helps?

One of my friends has the bumper only on his FJ40. It is well made and has been dragged through the Rubicon a couple of times. The downside is, it hangs very low (to clear the lights) and may hit ledges more often than you would like.

89s, Thanks. I knew that when I posted here but since I knew you guys generally cared more about racks and rack systems designed for long hauls it seemed logical at the time to post here. Yes they make this system for 40s as well as other series cruisers.

Cruiserdrew, Thanks. That is helpful to know. From the pics it doesn't look like the rear bumper hangs that low. I will give it a much closer look with that in mind. Overall though it sounds like your buddy likes is just not how low it sits.
