What: Expedition Utah Newfoundland Mountains Ride
When: February 16-18 (Presidents Day Weekend)
Where: Newfoundland Mountains

Who: Anyone interested in exploring one of the most remote mountain ranges in the continental United States.

Details:

Saturday:
8:00am - Meet at Golden Spike National Historic Site [Map]
8:30am – Leave and traverse to the Newfoundland Mountains[Map]
Evening- Arrive at Newfoundland Mountains and camp at Miners Basin

Sunday
Explore Newfoundlands
Camp at Miners Basin

Monday:
9amish- Break camp
Visit Hogup Pumping Station
Head home via Lakeside

Here's an idea of what to expect: It will be brutally cold, very remote and very demanding on you and your equipment. If it isn't frozen there will be quite a bit of mud and rutted roads. You can make this trip in a stock 4x4, but we would recommend that you have good mud terrain or all terrain tires.
