I'll be going down from venezuela to the southern tip of argentina with my cruiser. Its a 40 soa running 35s and a 2f engine. drum brakes all around i plan o changing before leaving into disc all around :). has a second gas tank in the back under the bed between the two wheels coming from a 70. bucket seats are coming in with 5point and i got a storage compartment made in the back that closes the whole tub made out of diamond plate and locked with two locks...always better then one in south america. has great front and rear bumper with spare wheel and additional gas. everything else is stock

now heres where you get involved! how would you prepare the rig reasonably and what would you bring along with you in the truck? and what winch would you choose knowing it doesn't have p.s so no hydro.

if you like the idea and have a cruiser get yourself down here! ;)

Try to find a copy of Tom Sheppards Vehicle Dependant Expedition Guide It's out of print, but worth the search. Tons of useful info.

Check out www.sandcruiser.com and look in their archived log. It'll give you a good idea of what to get.

Make sure you have your vehicle carnets and insurance/border info. in order....it can save you a ton of time.

Another good source for your area is:

Local Knowledge...

Also, do a search for my recent Baja Mexico trip. Prep should be in the 80s section, and write ups are in the Events/Trail rides section.

Have a good Trip!
