So there I am relaxing on the couch, enjoying the fact that the little man is at Grandma's house and watching some tv. Then my wife comes bursting through the front door franticly searching/asking for the keys to my Cruiser because there is a brush fire coming right toward it.

Needless to say I jumped up and grabbed them and ran out myself to go check it out. I figured she was exagerating but sure enough about 100 yards or so in front of my truck was a fair sized brush fire just getting going. 5 houses down the end of our street stops at a large arroyo (my truck was parked with the front end facing the fence) that runs to the ocean and as I understand it thus far a 13 year old kid was playing with fire down in the canyon.

The fire department wasn't there yet so we just watched and waited untill they got here. Final toll was 90 fire fighters, 2 helicopters, 2 dozers and about 45 engines. It never seriously threatened our house or more importantly my 80 :flipoff2:but it did make for an exciting afternoon. I felt for the guys down there working thier asses off in brush gear when it was 90 degrees. Big :beer::cheers: to the firefighters.

I lucked out and got a few good shots I thought I would share with you all.

Hey 241 arrived! Those are my boys!

Glad they got it under control Mo and everyone in your community was safe.

41 and 241. I guess that is why they call them the authority! ;p

We were never in any danger but the houses lining the arroyo could have been. Thankfully all went well and they got in fully contained at around midnight. Made me want to go squirt some water with them!:crybaby:

All this just to save a white Land Cruiser? :grinpimp:
Awesome action shots. Glad everything turned out good for the whole community!

Thank god they weren't Jeepers. They would have just let it burn! ;p

Wow! Saw the smoke and figured it was somewhere near the Home Depot or Saddleback College in the arroyo behind them. I wasn't far off! Damn glad they saved the 80... and everything else around you. Damn kids!

That's my girl. :D

c'mon dude, that hill was not steep for an 80, should have gone and brought them cool  :)

I would have driven up it no worries, my parking space was at the top of the ridge so my truck was just sitting there while I watched TV. She just didn't want to listen to me :crybaby: if something happened to it. ;)

I would love to have brought them some cold ones, they are studs and deserve all the credit they get and more.:cheers::beer: Thanks to thier hard work I didn't even have to move it out of its spot. :bounce::bounce2:
